I’m an Emergency Physician since 2004, now working in the Nij Smellinghe Hospital in Drachten, Friesland. It’s a middle sized hospital with a level 3 ED in a rural area where we get a fair amount of occult trauma patients. We see all patient categories and are in direct contact with the other specialists. I’ve done my training in the Haga Hospital in The Hague.
I was very pleased to hear about the MNSHA Masterclasses (MC) as a way of filling up the caveats in my knowledge and consultant level thinking. It brought me that and so much more. And despite the amount of work it was so much fun to do it.
And after being a participant in three MC’s myself I have since mentored several MC’s and I’m looking forward to continue to contribute in making Emergency Physicians even better specialists than they already are.
My special interests are ECG’s and blood gasses and of course teaching, not only in healthcare but also in sailing as you can see in the picture.
