I am a UK EM physician working in the North of Scotland in a small rural DGH 80% of the time with 20% of my time being spent working for the Scottish retrieval service (EMRS) which sees me doing standard pre-hospital HEMS work along with ICU transfers via fixed wing from the Scottish islands to the regional tertiary centre.
I trained in Yorkshire, Melbourne and London and was a consultant for a couple of years in a large DGH in London and the regional major trauma centre before moving to Scotland in search of a more even work life balance and more outdoor space for the family! I also examine for the UK college of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) and teach on ultrasound and ATLS courses nationally.
